Face a Wall

Healing has no facing issues. If for some reason you're having slow computer issues, face a wall and rely solely on your mods.

Use a good healing mod

Use a mod which places the whole raid's health bars in a small area of your screen, so you can see at a glance who's taking damage and you don't have to move your mouse far to select the next victim. Make sure your mod factors in range, and greys out etc. the hp bars of people who are too distant to heal.

Add debuffs to your healing mod

Add a few damage-heavy debuffs to your healing mod, so you can easily see when a player is afflicted with them and heal proactively. Whirlwind in Leo and conflag during Kael are great candidates.

Healing Mods, aka Performance Enhancers

Healing and dispelling hard-mode sucks. Get a mod or two to help:

Healing

Clique and Healbot

These mods allow you to cast faster heals by using 1 mouse click instead of a mouse click and subsequent hot key. They are not recommended for players with active alts because you can have some very disorienting moments. You can also use macros with these, for example, have the Boss Mob targeted and Shift-Click to cast a heal on the Boss's target without de-targeting the Boss.

A sample set of click-casts:

  • Shift-Left: Flash Heal
  • Shift-Middle: Renew
  • Shift-Right: Greater Heal
  • Ctrl-Shift-Left: Binding Heal
  • Ctrl-Shift-Middle: Prayer of Mending
  • Ctrl-Shift-Right: Power Word: Shield
  • Ctrl-Left: Dispel Magic
  • Ctrl-Middle: Prayer of Healing
  • Ctrl-Right: Abolish Disease
